You\u2019ll need to search specifically for assistive devices, but they have hundreds of designs.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining sites focus entirely on assistive technology.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d like to see Makers Making Change become the preeminent site for DIY, 3D-printed assistive technology.\u00a0 Mostly because, of the sites devoted to assistive technology, MMC is the only organization with a budget and a staff to curate their models.\u00a0 They have a grant from the Canadian government to do what they&#8217;re doing.\u00a0 If Bill Binko of AT Makers was hit by a bus tomorrow, that organization would have a really hard time staying afloat. If I was even <em><strong>frightened<\/strong> <\/em>by a passing bus, Volksswitch would go under immediately!<\/p>\n<p>If you get into modeling assistive technology, I encourage you to post your designs at least to Thingiverse and Makers Making Change to share with others.\u00a0 Use one of the Creative Commons licenses to ensure that the people who need your creation aren&#8217;t discouraged by a price tag.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><a id=\"_idgpn_103\" style=\"color: #999999;\" href=\"https:\/\/volksswitch.org\/index.php\/how-can-i-start-designing-my-own-3d-objects\/\">How can I start designing my own 3D objects?<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is 3D\u00a0 Printing?
