LTROP Case Keyguard Designs

(link to LTROP case on Amazon)

We’ve provided designs for three different methods for mounting your keyguard: slide-in tabs, micro-suction tape, or a keyguard frame.

If you go with a keyguard frame, the frame can be mounted in three different ways: micro-suction tape, slide-in tabs, or a perimeter shelf.  The frame  is printed separately from the keyguard.  All keyguards in that column will snap into and out of any of the the keyguard frames.  You can also add clear plastic to the back of the keyguard frame to replicate the benefits of a screen-protector.

To choose and download your keyguard design:

  1. Find your app in the first column.
  2. Find the layout for your app in the second column.
  3. Staying in the same row, choose a mounting method from the last two columns.  You can get an idea what your keyguard will look like by clicking on the “image” links in that row.
  4. Click on the “STL” link to download your design.
  5. If you’ve chosen a keyguard design from the “keyguard frame” column, find the line of keyguard frame designs at the bottom of the table..   Choose among the three options for mounting your keyguard frame and click on the “STL” link for that option.
  6. Once you’ve printed your design, look at the links at the bottom of the page for instructions on how to mount your keyguard.

* same as SC 30 layout, just with the rails as wide as possible and slightly taller

Note that the “Approx. Print Cost & Time” figures below only apply if you are printing the keyguard for yourself.   When the case supports multiple mounting methods we’ve estimated the cost for the most expensive of the mounting methods. Note that we’ve had success printing keyguards using PLA filament with a 15% infill, two perimeters, and 4 top/bottom layers.  Print Costs assume a $20 roll of filament.  All keyguards with raised tabs should be printed with supports.

Mounting Your Keyguard

Refer to these pages based on your choice of mounting method for a description of how to mount your keyguard:

Printing a Stand

We’ve created a designer for a 3D-printable stand, for cases like this, that will allow you to position your tablet in a stable upright position.

We’ve also created a set of three stand designs specifically for the LTROP case that you can download and print.  You’ll also need to download and 3D-print the stand plate that will go inside your case.    Go here to learn how to prepare the stand and mount it to your case.   You’ll also learn how to choose a preferred tablet angle.

Preferred tablet angle:

The stand will require two, 3/8-inch Chicago screws to attach to the LTROP case (and its various copycats).
