Mounting with Screw-on Straps

This mounting method has been designed around a particular set of straps that you can purchase from Keyguard AT on this web page .

As you make decisions and take measurements of your tablet and case, record those decisions/measurements in this form to make entering them into keyguard.scad easier.  Also, take a screenshot of the application running on the target tablet and keep that screenshot with the data form.  They will be very valuable to the person who will be printing the keyguard.

To add support for screw-on straps to your keyguard, you simply expand the “Mounting Method” category of options and then select “Screw-on Straps” in the pull-down list of titled”mount keyguard with” .  You can see a video of the process by clicking on the image below.  Note that the video focuses only on the mounting aspects of the keyguard.  For go here for instructions on how to accommodate the layout of the app and grid of tiles in your design.

Use the STL file you’ve produced to print the keyguard on your 3D printer.  It took our printer about 2 hours and 10 meters (about 60 cents) worth of PLA filament to produce the keyguard for an iPad Mini.

The video below shows how to install the screw-on straps:
